The International Association for Orofacial Pain held its third webinar featuring Dr. Marek Vlna from Slovakia, who presented on “Everything Starts with a Click.” Dr. Vlna discussed the clinical significance of TMJ clicking sounds, explaining that while clicks are common and often harmless, they can sometimes indicate underlying issues requiring treatment. The presentation included interactive polls where attendees voted on patient scenarios and clinical findings, emphasizing the importance of proper patient history-taking and differential diagnosis. Dr. Vlna stressed that structure does not predict suffering, highlighting the need for proper patient counseling and education rather than immediate invasive treatment. The webinar attracted nearly 300 registered participants, with around 150 actively participating in the polls and discussion.

Outside the clinic, I’m a husband, dad of two girls, Ironman triathlete, and proud dog owner—family, sport, and a healthy lifestyle keep me balanced and striving for excellence every day.
